A woman accused with harassing Kate McCann reportedly recorded her a voicemail message which posed: "suppose I am Madeleine?"

Julia Wandelt, twenty-four, who court testimony revealed has repeatedly asserted she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are on trial accused with stalking Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February the current year.

On Monday, the court learned communication data and information obtained from phones documented Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a DNA test over the past two years.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - at the age of three during a family holiday in Portugal - is considered the most publicized investigations and remains unsolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

A separate phone message, shared in court, captured Ms Wandelt saying: "I know I'm overweight and not pretty like Madeleine used to be, but I know what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's answerphone expressed: "Suppose there is a slight possibility that I am she? What happens next? Isn't that significant for you?"

"I do not need money, I maintain a life here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," the message continued.

The panel was told that via emails, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt requested a DNA test, forwarded youth pictures to her phone in a effort to demonstrate a likeness to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and asserted to have "memories" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an investigator with the police force who collated the information, advised the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally communicated with close associates of the McCanns, as per the call data.

On 9 October 2024, the father responded to a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "incorrect contact information."

That day Ms Wandelt deposited a message on Mrs McCann's voicemail declaring "I will persist and I plan to establish my point."

The court heard Mrs Spragg struck up a relationship via internet with Ms Wandelt before joining her on a visit to the McCanns' residence in that area in last December.

Phone records demonstrated Mrs Spragg had communicated via communication app to Mrs McCann to state the media had characterized Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she ought to be taken seriously in the period leading up to the appearance to Rothley, the county, in December 2024.

The court heard communications between the two defendants, in November 2024, planning attempting to obtain Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her trash or from silverware at a restaurant.

"We must make a stand," the co-defendant advised Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the appearance to their residence, the defendant sent a message which said: "We're currently sitting outside the McCanns' house with our headlights off like private investigators. I had hoped to achieve this with another person I hadn't anticipated I would be involved in this with the McCanns."
