Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday evening. The athlete was involved in a car accident near Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
