Former US treasury secretary Lawrence Summers is leaving the board at OpenAI, just several days after a collection of digital correspondence between him and late convicted sex offender the accused trafficker became publicly available.

He stated in a release that he was "grateful for the opportunity to have served, optimistic about the prospects of the organization, and anticipate observing their advancement".

The former Harvard president, who once headed Harvard University, stated on recently that he would be stepping back from public commitments due to his connections with Jeffrey Epstein.
