Jurgen Klopp says coming back to manage Liverpool is conceivable.

The German coach, who left Anfield in 2024, indicated that rejoining the club remains an option. Klopp, following a hugely successful near-decade reign which brought Champions League success and ending the club's long wait for three decades, has since taken on positions as head of global soccer for Red Bull and providing guidance for the DFL.

Fan Sentiment and His Frank Comments

The club claimed the league title in the previous campaign, but many fans who adore the manager would welcome the possibility of his potential comeback. During an extensive chat, he explained to Steven Bartlett: “I said I won't manage any other side in England. Which implies in case it's my former club...yeah. It's plausible.”

“I’m 58, which suggests I might decide down the line, it's uncertain. Must I choose now? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, it's not necessary. I can just see how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Pressed on what circumstances would need to occur to bring him back to the touchline, he confessed he isn't eager toward coming back. “It's unclear to me, I enjoy my current role,” he said. “No longing for management; No desire to be in the rain through long matches; I'm glad to skip press conferences repeatedly each week or having 10-12 interviews each week.

“The locker room isn't missed per se, however, dining out with the team enjoying conversation, is pleasant. With many victories thus frequently great spirits around the place. Remaining with me is the captain's chuckle ringing in my ears to illustrate.”

Commending Arne Slot

Klopp was full of praise for his successor, crediting him for the adjustments that won the league in the previous season. The team has suffered a string of losses in every contest following significant transfers, though he denied the suggestion it could be a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward like Florian Wirtz, critics will regret if spoken against. An outstanding player. The French striker, superb talent. They have a strong thoughtfully assembled roster. You don’t have to worry regarding the Reds, things will improve.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

Klopp also spoke emotionally on the loss of the Portuguese star, a player he signed while in charge, and the effect on Liverpool. Jota died tragically in a road accident alongside his brother in July.

“Can you substitute such an individual? It’s not about his on-field talent, it’s the guy he was. I struggle to conceive the squad absent his presence. I still cannot speak properly regarding this. It was an incredible shock for the entire squad as well. No one within the club will ever use it for poor performances yet it's the reality. Being in that space where his spirit remains. Dealing with that emotionally is challenging. Unbearable.”
