President Approves Bill to Release More Jeffrey Epstein Records Following Months of Pushback

The US leader announced on Wednesday evening that he had endorsed the measure resoundingly endorsed by US legislators that directs the federal justice agency to release more files concerning Jeffrey Epstein, the late pedophile.

This decision arrives after an extended period of resistance from the leader and his backers in the legislature that fractured his political supporters and caused divisions with certain loyal followers.

Donald Trump had resisted disclosing the Epstein files, labeling the matter a "hoax" and condemning those who attempted to publish the records accessible, even though promising their publication on the election circuit.

However he altered his position in the last week after it was evident the legislative chamber would pass the legislation. Trump stated: "Everything is transparent".

It's not clear what the justice department will make public in following the measure – the bill outlines a host of possible documents that should be made public, but includes exemptions for some materials.

Donald Trump Approves Measure to Force Disclosure of Additional Epstein Files

The legislation mandates the top justice official to make public Epstein-connected files publicly available "in an easily accessible digital format", covering each examination into Epstein, his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, travel documentation and movement logs, individuals mentioned or identified in relation to his illegal activities, institutions that were connected with his trafficking or money operations, immunity deals and further court deals, organizational messages about charging decisions, documentation of his confinement and death, and details about any file deletions.

The department will have one month to provide the files. The bill contains certain exemptions, including redactions of personal details of victims or individual documents, any descriptions of minor exploitation, publications that would endanger ongoing inquiries or prosecutions and representations of death or mistreatment.
